POINT PLEASANT, NJ – The seniors on the Point Pleasant Borough High School football team have put a twist on a tradition and will show their apprecition to local business owners who have supported them throughout the years by giving back.
Every year, local businesses adopt a senior player for a small fee as part of the "Senior Give Back" program, which is then used to supplement the cost of the jerseys that are gifted to each senior at the end of the season.
This year's senior class decided to do something different and rather than asking businesses to adopt players, the senior players chose to adopt local businesses instead.
The signs are being made now and will be distributed to the local businesses to display in their windows soon. In addition, each business selected will be announced at home games in appreciation for all their support over the years.
