The 2018 season is gearing up to be a great one with coach Staub ready to lead the brotherhood to another successful year.

It's going to be another great year.
The Black and Gold Football Parents Club kicked off the start of the 2018 season last night at it's first official meeting. Parents, coaches and board members gathered in the high school library to discuss the upcoming year and hear from Coach Staub.
The meeting started with Coach Staub speaking to parents about the expectations for the team and went on to introduce the 2018 coaching staff. Most of the names you'll recognize from last year. Coach Orrok, Coach Canary, Coach O’Connor, Coach Johnson, Coach Drzymkowski and Coach Hughes, are all returning form last year. This year we welcome Coach Drew, who many will remember from freshman football where he was the assistant football coach.
The annual lift-a-thon has begun in the weight room. The boys should be collecting donations for the lift-off on June 27. Weight room attendance isn't mandatory, however anyone who has an 80% attendance rate will get a one-of-a-kind t-shirt.
Joe Mayfield, president of the Black and Gold Club took the stage next to discuss the club's agenda for the the upcoming year. This year we kick-off the season with a carwash and clothing drive on June 24 in the Sabosik parking lot on Bridge Avenue across from Welsh Farms from 9am - 2pm. Come get your cars washed by our awesome football boys.
At the same time, we will be having a clothing drive. So dive into your closets and drawers, the more weight we donate, the more money we receive to help our coaches and boys. Remember that all donations have to be in WHITE garbage bags.
There will be another car wash to follow on July 7 at the firehouse on Bridge Ave. Be sure to mark your calendars and come on out.
The annual family barbecue is set to take place on August 11, immediately following the scrimmage. Everyone's welcome, so come out, grab a hot dog or hamburger, meet parents and kick-off the 2018 season right. The club is looking for volunteers and still needs coolers for the event. Romer stressed the importance of getting involved in the club. It provides so much to the players all year long and welcomes every parent who wants to get involved. The next meeting is scheduled for July 10 at the high school and we encourage everyone to attend. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
